I like to play Far Cry over Xbox Live. The next-gen graphics are way better than Gears of War. You can make your own maps and stuff. There are some noobie faces that like to make lame-o obstacle courses. Like I really want to spend 30 minutes jumping over hedges with a jet ski.

There seems to be some strict rules to making obstacle courses in Far Cry. It is mandatory that every obstacle course contain the following:

The board fence stepping stones is the most dreaded obstacle. It should be placed somewhere towards the middle of the course. It is absolutely required that they be placed over a deep hole. The player must jump from one board fence to another to reach the other side to continue the course. You need about three or four jumps placed at odd angles for maximum failure.

The uncooperative ladder should be placed as a way of getting out of deep holes so that the player can attempt an obstacle again. The uncooperative ladder cannot be made accessible like a traditional ladder. Being able to climb up it by walking or jumping straight towards it is unacceptable. It should require being approached at a variety of angles before allowing the player to ascend it. If you can invoke a graphics glitch where it is invisible behind a dirt wall, all the better.

The levitating fishing pier can be used to make ramps for doing stunts with ATVs. It is a wooden board deck with wood posts holding it up. The nice thing about the levitating fishing pier is that you do not need to place it on solid ground. It will float in the air anywhere you wish. It is particularly narrow and perilous to drive along. Make sure there are numerous gaps between pier segments to disallow enjoyment of the ATV ride. Make the straights steep so that a player is unable to tell what is at the top. Randomly place a jump or right angle bend at the top so the player has to guess as to whether he needs to approach the peaks at full speed or stop to handle a turn.

Palm tree stairs are a good way to disguise an obstacle as simple scenery. Have the course seemingly end with no obstacle to overtake. Have some innocuous palm trees that allow them to jump from tree top to tree top to escape. If they can't figure it out, too bad.

The Jigsaw Sniper is the obstacle course maker. He sits in a tower he made just for himself. He is equipped with a sniper rifle and unlimited ammo. He is truly evil. He won't hesitate to kill a player after they have a fluke in luck and successfully cross the board fence stepping stones pit. He will relish in their despair at having to start all over again.
