The retail store I work at decided we should be a pet store. New shelves went up and we now have dog toys and litter boxes. All we were missing were the puppies. Everyone loves puppies. This gave me a new business idea.
The problem with puppies is that they grow up. Adult dogs are not cute and it would be great if puppies never got old. No doubt it is possible to genetically modify dogs to remain puppy-like. For example it was not enough for snobs with allergies to settle for hairless cats so some clever scientist designed a really expensive hypoallergenic cat. Genetically modified puppies are cost prohibitive and a risky investment. A simpler solution may exist.
If you need to cut a ceramic tile for your bathroom project you rent a tile saw from a tool rental store. People want puppies but not the adult dog. Why not a puppy rental store? Your kids are begging you for a puppy and swear up and down that they will remember to take care of it. You both know that is a heaping pile but children are unrelenting. You rent them a puppy from the puppy rental store.
Once your puppy becomes a dog and your kids lose interest in taking care of it, it is time to return it to the puppy rental store. We graciously take the dog to the back and shoot it in the head after you leave. All the carcasses are then packed into 55 gallon drums and sent to an animal rendering plant. They are then ground into mush and sold as Meat and Bone Meal (MBM) to the dog food industry. This is the same dog food that helps our new puppies grow big and strong!
